Which bingo rules to follow - BingoGame FAQ

One of the greatest things about bingo is just how few bingo rules there really are. In other words, bingo is such an easy game to play that anybody can pick up the bingo rules in about a minute or even less.

Here is the most important of all bingo rules - understand the game's objective.

The objective of bingo is to be the first player to cover or mark-off the numbers on your bingo board or card that correspond with the numbers called by the 'Bingo Caller in land bingo halls' or the 'Chat Master in online bingo casinos'.

By being the first person to mark off all the numbers in a row or a particular pattern, as specified by the bingo rules of the particular game you are playing, will win you a prize or even jackpot in some cases.

When playing a 75-ball bingo game, for instance, you will be play one or more cards that each contain 5 rows and 5 columns, giving you a total of 25 squares or blocks.

The caller of the game places the numbered and lettered balls into the cage, then he or she closes the door. The cage is turned so the balls are mixed up. Then, he or she opens the cage and draws out one ball. The caller then announces to the players what is on the ball.

The balls in a Bingo game are specifically numbered and lettered. That is, the "B" column contains numbers from one to fifteen; the "I" column contains only numbers from sixteen to thirty; the "N" column contains only four numbers from thirty-one to forty-five; plus, this column also contains the free space; the "G" column contains only numbers from forty-six to sixty; and, finally, the "O" column contains only numbers from sixty-one to seventy-five.

So, the caller will say something like, "B-1" or "I - 25" or "O -70". Each player then checks their cards for the number and letter that is called. If they have it on their card, they use a marker or a dabber to blank out that square.

The game then continues play until one or more players have five spaces blanked out. The five spaces must be either horizontal, vertical, or in a diagonal row across the Bingo card. Once a person has this order of spaces marked on their card, they call out, "Bingo!"

The end of each game of bingo is clearly defined in the rules. A game is over when the first player to claim all five numbers in the pattern announced for the game has had their claim verified.

One interesting aspect of the formal rules of bingo is that prizes are optional. If you wish to play online bingo or any game for that matter, check to see if there is a prize or reward for the person who wins the game. A prize will be great but for many people the reward is the fun and enjoyment of the game and the people you meet in playing bingo.
